WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT
JK's handmade leather boots are unlike anything you have put on your feet before. Because we use the highest quality materials and construction, your boots will form to your feet over time, for the perfect fit.
Your boots may feel a little stiff or strange at first, and that is completely normal. The leather will settle to your feet: stretching, where there is tightness, and shrinking up where there is extra room. The insoles will form to your arches and toes, and the boots will soften and mold to your foot and calf.
Wear with a good pair of socks, trust the break in process, and enjoy a whole new level of footwear!
Brief history with JK Sizing
We are continuing to improve sizing experience for new customers based on current customer feedback to achieve the best results.
From our early days, JK Boots has been on a journey to improve our products, systems, customer experience, and methods. We never want to settle for good enough, we always want to get better!
As of March 2023, based on the market research, specialist consultation and customer feedback, we have updated our sizing method and chart, in order to increase the ease and simplicity in finding the best size for you.
This includes:
• Offering a larger variety of letter Widths
• Simplifying Boot Length determination Via the US Brannock device and Standard U.S Sizing
• Offering the Ball width Measurements chart
• Adding a printable Brannock Device & Tape Measure
• Adding a conversion Calculator
How Much Toe Room Should My Boots Have?
•Our "standard" toe room is based off of what we typically recommend–giving you about a thumb's width of space between your toe and the end of the boot. This leaves plenty of room for your foot as the leather settles, and shrinks back (curling the toes slightly) over time. With that in mind, everyone is different. You know your feet best, and should pick what sounds good to you, like if you know you have sensitive toes, go with a roomy fit, or if you prefer less material up front, than go with the snug fit.
How Wide Should My Boots Be?
Our boots are built to provide incredible support and comfort for extended periods of time, almost like a firm handshake. We have five widths to choose from (D (narrow), E (regular), EE (medium), 3E (wide), and 5E (Xtra-Wide), so simply select what sounds right.
Our Honey Fire is a hybrid wildland favorite. Akin to the Fire Inlander with it's high-grade leather, fireproof thread, and stitched-down construction, these boots are built to keep you comfortable on the toughest days. For firefighters that want a bit more grip and cushion, opt for this golden combination.

I have both the Fire Inlanders and Custom Ironhides. I wear the Ironhides at work everyday, and the Inlanders everywhere else. The Inlanders are the most comfortable boot I've ever owned. Do yourself a favor and watch a video of them being cut in half. The construction and quality will blow your mind. And it translates into real life. If you want a tough, beautiful, perfectly fit-to-your-foot boot, please buy some JKs. Whatever boot you've been wearing will seem absurd once you break in some JKs.

I’ve had my Fire Inlanders for the last three season, and am currently wearing them in the PNW winter doing Reforestation work. They’re not only the most comfortable shoes I have, but my back and knee pain have almost entirely disappeared wearing them. I recommend them to everyone on my crew, and I’ll be ordering a new pair as soon as finds allow.

I bought the fire inlanders a couple of weeks after I bought a pair of super duties, due to the perfect fit and craftsmanship of the super duties. I’m retired from the military with the majority of my time spent in 5th SFG so I’ve worn a lot of different brands. I’ve owned custom made Nicks and Whites which were great but not near as comfortable as either pair of my JKs. I hiked about 15 miles the first three days I wore the fire inlanders and had zero hill slippage or hot spots. They were stiff from being brand new so I used the secondary lacing method and with their perfect fit have had no issues. I have not owned a better made or fitting pair of boots and have no reason to ever shopanywhere else. Both pair of my boots are perfect! Best in the world of you ask me! I forgot to mention that I used JK’s sizing guide to find my size. John V
